Mother's Day 2009

Mother's Day this year was not quite what I was expecting, but great nonetheless. It started with a call at 7:15 am - Tony called to tell me he was getting held over for mandatory overtime. Leila and I were both already dressed and ready to start the day (yep, at 7:15 - she's an early riser...) We were supposed to go to the San Francisco Zoo, but it got put off due to overtime.

Leila and I decided to walk downtown. I loaded her up in the jogging stroller, and we took a leisurely walk to my favorite coffee place, Panama Red. YUM! The sweet barista gave me my coffee on the house, after hearing about Tony getting held over, and that put me into a much better mood.

After drinking coffee, and(Leila) eating a madeline cookie we decided to go home and veg for a bit, and then visit Tony at the station.

Leila and I wore our matching "Team Mommy" shirts, made by my friend Samya:
Leila posed for some pictures:
And got to play in the rescue boat with Daddy:

Then she got straight into the Captain's seat:
For dinner we went over to my parent's house and got to spend some time with my mom and two of my grandmas.
Like I said, my Mother's Day wasn't what I thought it was going to be, but as long I get to spend it with my sweet girl, I'm happy.

Doesn't it always seem like things don't go as planned? :) I am happy that you got a free drink, and took some awesome pics! P.S. I LOVE my necklace!
