Leila's Lullabies

I'll be honest here - unless it's a Disney song, I don't know many children's songs. I don't know lullabies, but I do love to sing to my girl. Ever since Leila was a newborn she's loved my singing (poor little thing doesn't have a discriminating ear yet!) Tony would make fun of me, because when I would be getting Leila to bed he'd hear me over the baby monitor singing songs like "Rehab" by Amy Winehouse, "Faith" by George Michael, "Just Like Heaven" by The Cure or (my all-time favorite song!) "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" by Wham! (Yes, I am a *HUGE* George Michael fan...don't make fun.) Well, yesterday we were driving home from my friend April's house, and Leila was just about asleep when "Rehab" came on my iPod. With her eyes 95% shut, she points here little finger and shakes it back and forth whenever the "no, no, no" part would come on. So stinking cute! I should have been paying more attention to the road, but I couldn't help but look at her in my rear-view mirror! Then, about fifteen minutes later (by this time she's asleep) "Faith" comes on. Leila starts kicking her little legs and swaying her head back and forth. She started dancing to George Michael -- in her sleep! I only wish someone else was in the car with me to witness the cuteness of it all. I guess I had better start learning some children's songs before Leila is old enough to understand the lyrics to some of my songs. I don't want her singing about going to rehab in kindergarten!
