Forgot to tell you about the devil child

This is a true, not exaggerated story.

So, Leila, Ramon and I went for a walk on Monday afternoon. Our usual walk is up a huge hill, then we turn back around and head home. It takes about 45 minutes, and really gets my heart rate up. Anyways, on Monday we went on our walk. We got to the top of the hill, and when I started to turn the stroller around I noticed that Leila wasn't holding onto her Curious George anymore. (Her George has been her favorite toy for the last week, and goes with her EVERYWHERE!) I started to panick, then started wondering how I could have missed it falling out of the stroller. So, we're about ten minutes down the hill when I see a boy (maybe ten years old) holding onto Leila's monkey. I got so excited, and said "You found my baby's monkey - thank you so much!" Leila is going "ooh, ooh" and reaching for it. Here's how the conversation continued:

Devil Child: "My monkey now."
Me: (Dumbfounded) "What?! That's my baby's - she must have dropped it."
(Leila is still reaching for her monkey, saying "ooh, ooh"
Devil Child: "Finder's keepers, losers weepers."
Me: (I can feel my face getting hot and red) "I really hope you're joking. That's my daughter's stuffed animal, and she really loves it. Can we please have it back?"
Devil Child: "Yep. Five bucks."
Me: "You've got to be kidding me."
Devil Child: "She can have it back for five bucks." (Devil Child holds out his hand.)
Me: "How's about you give me the monkey now, or I follow you home and tell your parents that you are trying to steal from a one-year-old."

The Devil Child then gives me one of the nastiest looks I have ever seen, hands over Curious George and keeps walking. I could not believe it! What a horrible, horrible litle kid. He seemed like the type of kid who is going to grow up and be a serial killer. Madness!
