Cooking day!

On Sunday afternoon, my mom and I made a bunch of healthy, delicious meals! In only about two hours we made: Layered Mexican Chicken Casserole, Shepherd's Pie, Penne with Sausage and Peppers, a big ol' batch of Taco Soup (that I let thicken into a great tortilla/taco filling) and Mushroom Soup! My fridge is stocked for the week! I was very excited to get to use my new pink Kitchenaid prep bowls! We decided that we are going to try and do this every month - set aside a Sunday afternoon and make a bunch of meals - maybe even some desserts! It was a fun way to spend time with my mom, while also making some super yummy (and lowfat!) meals!

Leila has a pretty grandma, you could tell they love each other.

Very cool to see three generation having a fun day bonding and getting something done. Way to go girls.

Isn't it the BEST?? Even better that you don't even have to think about "whats for dinner" every flipping night! WTG! Lets have a cooking GTG!

Leila does have a pretty Grandma, a pretty mom, too! It is nice that you and your mom spend so much time together. It just shows what an involved, loving and giving mother she has always been. I can see you and Leila having that same kind of relationship some day, too. Heather, you are a great wife and mother too.

hey! i wanted to ask you....what do you do with ramon when you go out of town? do you have a boarding place you recommend? we are going out of town the 21-24 and usually always have family to watch the pups but no one is able to this time and we are terrified of leaving them somewhere we're not familiar with or is not recommended by someone we trust. any pet sitters, boarders, etc. you know of that are good??

Seriously, my entire kitchen is full of pink accessories - canisters, spatulas, pot holders... Glad to know that I am not alone... Thank God Kitchen Aid is all about breast cancer awareness.
