Snap Conference 2012

Last Thursday morning I was up at 2:30 am (alarm was set for 3:00 but I woke up at 2:30....too excited to keep sleeping!) I got myself ready, grabbed a diet coke and was on my way to the airport. The flight was quick and easy - I watched an episode and a half of "Smash" on my iPad and then, bam, I was in Utah! I'm getting to really like this whole flying on my own thing....

So, I've been back from the Snap Conference since late Sunday afternoon and I still can't stop thinking about it. To say it was amazing is an understatement. Tauni and her team did a incredible job. Every detail was perfect, and every aspect of the conference was well thought out.

I learned so, so much. I took lots of notes (probably more than I ever did in any class) and my head is spinning with information and ideas.

I met lots of new people, met people I feel like I've "known" for years through blogging, and connected with some old friends.

I lugged around my giant Jo Totes purse with my DSLR camera in it and never took a single picture with it. I got a handful on my phone, though.

I roomed with some fabulous girls! Here's our glasses picture (they all wore glasses at night except for me. Fortunately Alissa had a fake pair I could use!)
Myself, Jacqui, Alissa, Carrie, and Caroline.

We had an adjoining room with Jacqui, Amy, Elizabeth and Megan. The door was really never closed and every night was like a giant slumber party. I loooooooove those girls! I think we got an average of three and a half hours of sleep each night. Too much fun (though I'm paying for it now!)

Some of the cute girls I hung out with:

{Amy and Brittany}

I bought *the* cutest necklace from Brittany's shop - it's a gold whistle (coming soon online) and we decided to call it a rape whistle, haha. Seriously, though - it's the perfect layering piece and I've worn it everyday. It's a totally functioning whistle, and really could come in handy should the need ever arise. Get one for yourself!

I also got to meet Liz Kartchner - her blog is one of the first I started reading, and I've been a huge fan ever since! She is one of the sweetest people I've ever met, and I really loved getting to meet and spend some time with her. We were also both wearing white and black polka dot tops, with red jeans and a statement necklace one day. Great minds think alike!

One of the biggest things I took away from the conference was something that Liz said - "To be creative you need to become a little girl again. You need to be a dreamer."

One of the hands-on classes I went to was put on by Scentsy. Man, I love that company! We learned what goes into creating a scent, and got to create our own.

Here is Jacqui and I with David Weymouth of Scentsy:

It wasn't only the amazing classes, panels and speakers that made the Snap Conference amazing. It was the late, late nights (and into early mornings) with my roommates and friends!

This girl is crazy fun. But watch out because she will cut you!

This girl dances like a crazy person and it is amazing.

Don't judge her outfit choices. She lives in the woods. ;)

Before I knew it the conference was over, which was bittersweet. I was having a great time, but excited to get home to my family.

Until next year, Utah...

Sounds like a blast! I've been wanting to go but I don't think I have any bloggy friends and I don't have a popular blog like any of those ladies. I also don't have a shop. I want to make my blog more but my real commitment is to my active duty Marine and kiddos. However, I still think I'd learn a lot from something like that. :)

Thank you for sharing!

Looks like fun. I was totally gonna go (that's a lie) but then I realized that I am not so crafty or creative. So thanks for representing the Bay Area!
