father's day 2014

This year's Father's Day was nice and low-key, exactly what Tony wanted.

He was coming off of a shift, so he got home the morning of Father's Day around 9:15, and wanted to take a stroll downtown. It was gorgeous out, and we ended up stopping for brunch.

Leila snapped this picture of us - she thinks it's hilarious that Tony's wearing my sunglasses. He forgot his own (and I always have a handful of pairs) Of course I made him wear the giant ones ;)

Later that day my parents came over, and we took them to our pool club. Here is my dad wearing his Father's Day present from us (the hat)

The girls best friends were there, which made it extra fun for them!

We barbecued at the club, and came back home to our house for some brownies in the backyard.

Tony got a reciprocating saw and new cuff links from Stella & Dot's just-released engravables line

....but his favorite present were some sweet paper dolls Leila made him of our family. Leila and Tony played with the dolls for a little bit, but since they're so delicate I ended up getting a cheapie frame (dollar store for the win!) and framing them with some Target kraft paper in the background.

I hope you had a great day celebrating the dads in your life!
