The original recipe was to first start out making some pretty complex sugar cookies. I opted for Pillsbury ready-to-bake cookie dough instead. ![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEie9xNWVb987f1dAqX1880af4F3uqUVXU-uBXGolq_pwUqCMaAN1t0qYYAGl890EBnQKd2Z3NankGqbzhOCksFu3rxfUBqQKcfyGTKxHOXmNcGhXAgn0FZpRXz3qVStcmmZMkm-wCdDmLDB/s320/zcookie.jpg)

I dyed one package of dough red, and one package of dough green. Placed the colors on top of each other, then rolled them into a log. I then chilled the log on floured parchment paper for two hours in the fridge.

Then, slice the log into 1/2" slices:

Then, slice the log into 1/2" slices:
Brush a simple egg wash over the slices, and sprinkle away (sprinkling was Leila's job!)
Then, stick a lollipop stick (I found them at Michael's) about a 1/2" into the dough:
