Hotshots // the 19 firefighters that lost their lives

Today is the one month anniversary of the tragic passing of 19 (yes 19!) firefighters in Arizona, who lost their lives while battling a wildfire. This kind of news rocks me to the core, and as a fire wife I have a hard time wrapping my head around this tragedy, and in the month since this horrific accident, I've had a pit in my stomach every time my husband leaves for work.

My dear friend, Samya is just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. She runs an awesome shop called Firedaughter (Samya is also a fire wife) To honor the memory of the nineteen firefighters Samya's created a limited edition shirt, and is offering it at half off, so that every one can wear one, and support the Granite Mountain Hotshots.

Here is an awesome piece Samya's news station did on her shirts:

I hope you can each buy one of these shirts, to honor the memories of those who ran up to fight that fire, while everyone else was running away. If not, I hope you can at least take a moment and be grateful for those men and women who risk their lives everyday for the rest of us.

Good for her, that's really awesome that she's doing that. What a horrible tragedy, it still brings tears to my eyes.

That is so tragic :(

My husband is a lineman. One of the most dangerous jobs. It's scary! I'm sure you know what I mean
