Luxi House Benefit at Kendra Scott

If you're a long-time blog reader you're probably aware that I'm a huge Kendra Scott fan! I was lucky enough to interview her in 2012, and a quick search of Kendra Scott on my blog shows up lots of posts where I've mentioned her jewelry. But then when I found out that Kendra Scott the person (along with Kendra Scott the company) have a huge heart for philanthropy and give back nearly $3 million dollars every year I fall in love a little more!

I am so excited that one week from today - Wednesday, April 12, 2017 - Kendra Scott, Walnut Creek will be donating 20% of their proceeds to Luxi House and Crossfire Kids. Luxi House is a home dedicated to helping out young mothers. There are over 30,000 babies born to youth in California each year. Many of these births are to mothers who will end up dropping out of school and become dependent upon government assistance. Luxi House also works with Crossfire Kids, who offers advocacy, mentorship, training and family to youth who struggle under the weight of poverty and the disadvantages of lack in every area of life. Their commitment to individual relationships and their foundation in faith equip and inspire children so they are empowered to dismantle generational poverty and disadvantage, and are trained how to live abundantly.

I am a jewelry lover. Like big, BIG time. I love all jewelry, big and small, but lately I am drawn to personalized pieces more than anything. I love having pieces that have been created for me and only me, things that I will treasure forever, and maybe even pass onto my girls.

Makeup & Jewelry Breakdown

Hey friends! Last week I was at the Snap Conference, and posted this picture to instagram:

I've since had more than a dozen emails and messages asking for a breakdown of what makeup I'm wearing, what nail polish I'm wearing, and what makeup I'm wearing, lol! To have it all in one place here is the breakdown:

Eyes: I blended the gold shade into the dark purple shade from this palette and then coated my lashes with Maybelline's Lash Sensational Mascara.

Foundation: Bare Minerals original foundation in Medium Beige (my normal go-to foundation)

Blush: the blush from the same Tarte Palette mentioned above
Highlighter: (it's hard to see in the picture, but gorgeous in person.) It's the highlighter from the same Tarte palette. I looooooove that bad boy! I bring it with my any time I travel - it makes it so I can pack the majority of my makeup with just one palette.

Lipstick: Rimmel London The Only 1 lipstick in #700 - Naughty Nude. This lipstick line is incredible. I only have a couple, but want them all. They go on beautifully, last nicely and the colors are highly pigmented. One of my favorite drugstore buys.

Perfume: not that anyone asked, or that you could smell it via photo, but I'm telling you anyways because I love it ;) It's the new Ralph Lauren Tender Romance perfume, which just came out. It's a gorgeous cross between a floral and musky scent (in my opinion) and lasts all day. I love the classic Ralph Lauren Romance (and need to buy another) and this one is a great addition to my perfume collection!

Earrings: rose gold ear climbers (rose gold seems to be sold out online, but you might be able to find them in your store!) // LC Lauren Conrad for Kohls // I am obsessed with ear climbers right now, and these budget-friendly Lauren Conrad ones are awesome!!

ONecklace

Have you ever been to a website and immediately wanted one of everything? That's what happened when I went to ONecklace! They were kind enough to contact me a while back, and offer me two of their pieces, and I had a blast picking them out! 

Right away I knew that I would be getting a signature necklace. I lost my Auntie Linda a few years ago, and she's on my mind every single day. I have "Auntie Linda" written by her on our wedding guest signature picture, and I feel so happy when I wear this necklace. My auntie is always on my heart, and on my mind and it feels really special being able to wear this piece.

I also chose to get our wedding date in Roman Numerals. This is such a beautiful, wearable everyday piece. Another little treasure that I love wearing close to my heart! Selfishly, there are a ton of other things I also want on their website, but with Mother's Day coming up I should probably start thinking about gifts for my mom!

All of their products ship quickly - I was really impressed with that! After ordering custom pieces from other websites I've waited well over a month, and I had these within a week. Friends - can we all just take a second to gaze at this stunning statement necklace created by the wonderfully talented Jen Hoodenpyle?

Le sigh. Amazing, right? I am lucky enough to own one of Jen's incredible pieces, and I wear it often. I treasure it, have it sitting proudly on it's own bust, and will one day pass it on to my daughters.
