2017 Spring Trends to try - Soft, romantic hair

Soft, romantic hairstyles can look so effortless and chic.....but be anything *but* effortless. Here are a few tutorials that really are quite simple, and perfect for any Spring look!

This incredibly simple knotted updo looks like it took some time, but I did it on my own hair in about three minutes!

This lace braid is incredibly gorgeous, and also looks so much harder than it actually is to create!

To get a bit more volume and texture when pulling apart your braid, I've been using (and loving!) the Loose Texture Powder by Kristin Ess. I sprinkle a tiny bit directly onto the braid section I'm pulling at.

Would you try any of these styles?

2017 Spring Trends to try - statement sleeves

There are a handful of great 2017 Spring Trends I'm excited to try, and today I'm sharing some great "statement sleeve" options.

Belle sleeves, and ruffles and cold shoulders, oh my! SO many great options! These fun tops are almost always flattering (even if you've gained a few pounds, your shoulders still look great!) A statement sleeve is a fun way of showing a little bit of skin, but not too much. Here are a few of my favorites:

THIS cutie pie from Target
THIS sweet floral bell-sleeved number from Macy's
THIS gorgeous cold shoulder dress from Red Dress Boutique:

THIS beautiful off the shoulder, bell sleeve top:

What are your thoughts on the statement sleeve trend??

Fall/Winter 2012 Beauty

Fall is just flying by, and in the blink of an eye we'll be in full-blown Winter. Madness. I wanted to share a few of my favorite Fall/Winter 2012 beauty trends with you all, so here they are...

Plum lips are absolutely gorgeous, especially with some lightly pinked cheeks in these chilly months. They are also a great alternative to the classic red lip.  Some great plums: Sugar Plum lip butter by Revlon and Burberry Lip Velvet in Bright Poppy. Not feeling bold enough for a super rich lipstick? Try a plum gloss instead. Glitter and Gloss recommends Indiana by Elizabeth Street Cosmetics!
Plum Lips

edited to add: Chapped lips are an absolute no-no, when rocking any sort of bold color, including these gorgeous plums. I recommend Tarte's Lip Sheers. They are ultra moisturizing, and give you a hint of color. You can get three for only $21 (including a gorgeous plum!) in this fabulous, limited edition set:

Bold Brows. Beautifully groomed, bold brows are one of Fall/Winter 2012's hottest looks, and never go out of style! To achieve this look, I love ALL products by Billion Dollar Brows! Their universal brow pencil is one of my everyday essentials! I'll have a guest tutorial on how to create the perfect brows SOON!

Bold Brows

When is a bun ever not appropriate, right? Whether a messy top knot, or a sleek low bun you really can't go wrong! A bun (low or high) is especially gorgeous when dressed up with some eye-catching hair couture!

Jewel-toned nails. I am smitten with this perfect, jewel-toned manicure by Love Maegan. Sooooooo good.
